Contemporary Kitchen

Sleek units and chrome detail throughout. The painted units complement the polished limestone floor and black granite worktops, creating a soft contemporary feel within this modern village property.

Farmhouse Kitchen

This charming light filled room was the subject of a complete renovation prior to our involvement in the design of the kitchen. Working closely with the client we devised as scheme that reflected a desire for a practical and sociable working kitchen within a larger room. At one end of the room is a simple, refectory dining table, linked to the kitchen by a ‘peninsula’ unit. The units are made in a simple shaker style and hand painted in cream colour. Black granite is used for worktops. Contemporary touches are in the form of stainless steel cooker head and splash back, as well as chrome bar stools around the centre island. Flooring is limestone blocks laid in a random pattern. The fabric blinds provide a bold ‘splash’ of colour to the scheme.

Freestanding Pieces

Galley Kitchen
This long narrow kitchen was previously overloaded with poor design features, minimal lighting options and lack of effective storage solutions.
We have addressed all these aspects in our design and succeeded in expanding the visual aspect of the space to create a modern and fully functioning working space.

Down lighters on a dimmer switch give a bright an appealing feel to the room. All existing units and flooring were removed and replaced with good quality factory made units in a ivory painted finish. Including lit, glazed cabinets. Black Worktops and a small ‘peninsula’ for a breakfast bar were installed to give a strong sense of contrast to the scheme, with the addition of ivory and cherry red accent tiles to complement the new roman blind. New oak plank flooring to complement the flooring that we had already installed through other areas of the house, completed the transformation.

Kitchen makeover
In these kitchens, prior to our suggestion the clients were in favour of replacing the dated looking units with brand new. We suggested that there was nothing wrong with the quality of the units or the layout of the room, but that it would be possible to rejuvenate the look by addressing certain fundamental aspects. All units were sanded down prepared and painted using durable Farrow and ball paint; the existing tiles were removed from the wall to be replaced with brand new; handles were replaced as well as  work tops and sink units where necessary. We improved the lighting within the room and finally applied a new paint scheme to walls and ceiling for a stunning and cost effective transformation.

Open Plan Kitchen
The inspiration for our design of our own kitchen came from the fact that we had created beautifully rounded edges to all the new plasterwork. These have been reflected in the final design of the fitted units. The ground floor of the cottage is completely open plan, so the kitchen had to look great, whilst at the same time complementing the light and airy decor of the living and working space. All the units are hand painted to a soft antique finish , to reflect the general decorative scheme.

The Island unit houses a sink and dishwasher as well as providing extra storage and worktop space, and an extremely sociable centre point of the room.
The elaborate over mantle is painted to simulate the appearance of natural stone, and the decorative touches in our choice of handles, taps and fittings work extremely well in the overall scheme. Black granite work surfaces give  a strong contrast to the scheme as well as being extremely stylish and practical.
